About Mendip Ski Camp
Whether you're after snowsports in Somerset or simply a green hillside escape, Mendip Ski Camp offers peaceful pitching beside the dry slope at Mendip Activity Centre in the Mendip Hills National Landscape. This spacious, family-friendly field welcomes tents, campervans and motorhomes on grass and gravel pitches, with hot showers in a cabin block and the rare pleasure of campfires and barbecues allowed.
The activity centre next door runs watersports, archery, frisbee golf and abseiling (book ahead), while a mile away Sandford village delivers a pub, playground and the ever-popular Thatchers Cider Farm. Deer, foxes and buzzards frequent the surrounding woodlands, and walkers have the Strawberry Line, Mendip Way and Cheddar Gorge on their doorstep. Some visitors find facilities can feel a little tired in places, but the scenery and access to adventures more than compensate. Weston-super-Mare and the Somerset coast lie half an hour away by road.

What visitors say
Great! Such a lovely area to stay, really quiet campsite, nice facilities and the host family was really welcoming. Near enough to the shops if you need this also! Will return soon!

Very overpriced for the facilities available. Two toilets and two showers. Toilet itself clean enough but very basic, bare plywood walls, no hot water for handwashing and nothing to dry hands on. No where to dispose of rubbish, you are expected to take it away with you. When we booked we though it was £24 for the night which was a reasonable price, but once we were pitched the owner said there had been an ‘error’ with pricing and it was actually £42 for the night. A lovely family run campsite that exceeding our expectations. The toilets and showers are clean, soap and toilet roll provided and replenished daily. The owners are considerate when suggesting where people camp. Big groups and families not near quiet couples. A quiet area, with the activity center next door. Plenty of local walks, pubs and shops. Close enough to travel into Bristol, the coast and cheddar gorge. No hot water for washing up, which made it a little tricky cleaning the grill but apart from that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, will come back and highly recommend.

Just left site, had a wonderful stay, site facilities, toilets, shower, and washing area spotless. The gentleman and lady who run it with 2 boys are so friendly and helpful. The grass area is great, we stayed in a motorhome just over 7 metres long and fit perfectly. The area is kept very clean and grass mowed. Even with the bad rain the night before, the drainage in the grass made it mud free in the morning. Showers lovely and clean, nice and hot, Hot water at washing area. Toilet roll provided. Handsoap and even little hooks for clothes. Will 100% be back again. Just next to Mendip activity centre about 5 minute walk. Thanks for having us :)
