About Malin House Hotel

Malin House sits about 400 yards back from Saundersfoot's beaches, harbour and village centre, close enough to walk in for dinner or an evening on the seafront. It has built a loyal following over the years as a guest house that offers a genuine extra over most bed and breakfasts in the village: an indoor heated swimming pool with jacuzzi, set beside peaceful gardens and a sun terrace.

Rooms include family studios with kitchenettes and standard singles and doubles, all with central heating, television and Wi-Fi, and a cot is available for younger guests. Private parking is provided on site, and short breaks are a regular part of the booking pattern here alongside full weeks.

The combination of a quiet, garden setting with an indoor pool, at rates that stay firmly in bed-and-breakfast territory, makes Malin House a popular choice for families and older couples who want a bit more than a standard room without paying hotel prices.

Room 18 was spacious , family size with extra 2 bunks which we used for sorting our suitcases , had a fridge but no freezer, but had microwave and basic crockery and cutlery. The bed was comfortable and we slept well on the 4 night stay. There’s no lift so could be a struggle for less able folk but 1st floor was doable. Now for downside. I had to point out to Akash the owner that the Emergency Fire instruction chart on bedroom door was seriously lacking ( some I always look for in hotels ) It didn’t state exact assembly point ( Akash had to physically show me)or direction map to nearest exits! Statutory ! I asked for decaf coffee sachets , not in room but he had no stock.. He was generally friendly and talkative and admitted he was still learning which I said was a good thing. However he did seem to go off on a tangent describing a tragic road accident and asking who’s to blame? I reiterated I wasn’t blaming anyone just pointing some things out for improvement. Apparently’the last straw’ the next day when I found the shower hard to use Room18( it had a mind of its own) the wife had to come up to see for herself calling me ‘strange’ & childish a few times. Not exactly accommodating my ‘Special need’ of insecurity ( I agree I hadn’t noticed the hand written sticky note on one of the shower doors) All in all average considering age of hotel .

Solo traveller needing a base for two nights. The hotel is tired and needs more investment. I wouldn’t want to stay here for a holiday. Too far from the beach as carrying beach stuff would be difficult as it’s on a steep hill. Car parking in town is expensive. I’ve had to tick ‘great value’ as it was cheap but not really cheerful.
