What a great find! Room was clean, comfortable and big enough. The bathroom was a good size and also clean. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice at a reasonable price (and available till 11am, unlike the rather harsh "breakfast finishes at 9am" seen in a lot of UK hotels and guesthouses). Staff were friendly, welcoming and very accommodating of our request to leave bags before check in and after check out. Will definitely be recommending this lovely place!

Great hotel, stayed a few nights over a bank holiday as a solo traveller. Friendly service from checking in to leaving. Room was basic but clean and excellent value. Hotel currently being refreshed and rooms updated. Had a couple of evening meals, home made and again fantastic value. Definitely will be returning here for my next Scarborough trip! 👍🏼

Quirky, charming and a wee bit rough around the edges! I stayed here for 2 nights during the Fortress Festival held at the Scarborough Spa. The location is absolutely brilliant - just a 1 min walk to Esplanade, and a 5 min walk down to the Spa and beachfront. The room was small but had everything I needed - the shower and sink in the bedroom took me by surprise, but it all worked! The towels and bedding were exceptionally clean and good quality. I slept really well both nights. A few 'quirky' things like a broken lamp, no batteries in the TV remote and a broken drawer added to the charm, and didn't affect my stay. Breakfast options were plentiful and I opted for the veggie full breakfast which was delicious and very good value. I would come back to stay at the Rivelyn again, I was made to feel very welcome and comfortable here.

Absolutely lovely staff - from my first email checking booking to arrival and throughout my stay. Parking was on street but hotel had scheme where it was cheap. Room had been refurbished including new windows, bathroom, carpet and decoration. Small lift was really handy as I'd hurt my ankle. I had an lovely evening meal and a few drinks in the bar. Breakfast was really good and I chatted to the other guests. A proper traditional hotel where I felt welcome and safe.
