Lucky to have a newly renovated room. Staff were helpful and smiley. The food was served as a serve yourself selection. Not very hot but edible. The lift was useless and very dirty. Location is good if you dont mind the late night bars around you, they are open till 4am!

Stayed here trip with calendonian. Arrived at 11.30 could not check in til 3 pm. Hotel bit far from town you can walk down to it 20 minutes but it's a hike uphill returning. Buses do run regularly or you can use cliff lift short walk from hotel. Room was ok cleanish.in need of good paint as is much of hotel. Food was average edible but breakfast made up for it good selection buffet at breakfast. Evening meal you pick on card when you arrive. Staff are lovely and friendly. 4 drinks free each night. If you want stronger lager there is peroni and budd you pay 1.00 along with your drink voucher. Bingo on good pay out 10 quid for six . If I came to scarboro again I would want to be nearer the centre and beach so would not stay at South bay

Lovely clean room, staff were brilliant and worked really hard. Good Selection of food, great entertainment on the nights and great value for money! Stayed 4 nights with my family, we had a great time.

Avoid visiting this hotel. We were dropped off at 10.30am and told we could not go in our rooms till 3.pm. so we had to sit with suitcases till then and only thing for sale in bar was a tea cake and tea £3.95. Fast award all the rest of the dramas and told to be out of rooms by 10.am to be sat about again till 2.30pm for coach. I was told how bad this place was but had to experience it to learn. NEVER AGAIN
