St Abbs Head Nature Reserve and its clifftop paths are on the doorstep, while Coldingham Bay lies half a mile away. Eyemouth, five miles south, has a golf course and wider choice of eating and drinking. The castles of Paxton House, Manderston, Bamburgh and Alnwick make for varied day trips inland, and Edinburgh is within reasonable reach for a longer excursion.
Rock Cottage is a one-bedroom, one-bathroom property that sleeps two, set within a courtyard at the edge of St Abbs harbour. The ground floor contains a kitchen with electric cooking, a double bedroom with a smart TV, and access to a small decked patio. Upstairs is a sitting room with an electric woodburner and another smart TV, plus a shower room. Wifi, heating, electricity, bed linen and towels are all included. One car can be parked on site, and a bike store is available. The cottage is no-smoking, but one pet stays free.
A post office, shop and cafés occupy the village itself. The beach is two miles away. This works best for two people wanting a quiet base for exploring the coast and borderland countryside.
