About The White Lion Inn
For anyone after a straightforward base rather than a destination in itself, The White Lion Inn offers a compact, easy option right on the High Street in Gillingham, Dorset. With just three rooms, it has the feel of a proper local inn rather than a large hotel, which suits guests passing through or staying briefly in the area.
The property keeps things simple with a restaurant and bar on site, breakfast available each morning, free WiFi, and a garden to sit out in. Reception operates around the clock, which is useful for guests arriving outside typical hours, and free on-site parking makes it a practical stop for anyone travelling by car.
Gillingham itself is within easy reach of the surrounding Dorset countryside, and golfers may want to note Yeovil Golf Club nearby. Guests looking for extensive facilities or a resort-style stay should look elsewhere, but for a no-frills, well-placed overnight stay, The White Lion Inn does the job.
