About Best Western Plus Kenwood Hall Hotel & Spa

Kenwood Hall Hotel & Spa occupies a Victorian mansion set within several acres of wooded grounds in Nether Edge, a leafy suburb a couple of miles south of Sheffield city centre. The building's original features, from ornate ceilings to a grand staircase, remain a centrepiece alongside more modern bedroom wings.

The hotel's spa includes an indoor pool, sauna and steam room, and its grounds make it a popular wedding and events venue as well as a hotel. Rooms range from standard doubles to larger suites overlooking the gardens.

Its suburban setting suits visitors who want some greenery and quiet with easy access into the city centre by bus or a short taxi ride, and ample on-site parking is a further advantage over many central options.

This hotel markets itself as a 4 star hotel, however our experience did not reflect this. The service and location is amazing but unfortunately the rooms is what lets this hotel down. The bed was large however the pillows were flat and the mattress felt hard. There were no plugs at all next to the bed. The decor looked tired. The water pressure in the shower was very low. The hair dryer felt like someone blowing on you (it would've taken me hours to dry my hair!). And there was a constant gurgling water sound coming from the vent in our room the whole night. Both our key cards stopped working after the first day and we had to get new ones. And there was no fridge, and no pen supplied in the bedroom which a 4 star hotel should have. That being said, the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming (we arrived later than anticipated on the Friday night and they still managed to fit us in for dinner). We didn't use the pool / spa so couldn't comment on that. Overall, our stay was pleasant enough but this hotel should not be marketed as a 4 star, maybe 3.

Stayed here with my husband for our 15th wedding anniversary. The room was absolutely stunning with a gorgeous view over the river. Had use of the spa which the facilities were great. I had a treatment and that was incredible. Molly and Phoebe were so helpful and I cannot recommend the treatments enough, was so relaxing!! Will definitly be coming back again!

We had a wonderful experience here. Lisa upgraded us and was so welcoming and friendly. She was really helpful with my little girl and let her do her own children’s VIP check in. Dinner was good. Breakfast amazing. Pool is perfect for families. The grounds are beautiful. Room was clean, spacious and homely.

First of five-star service from the spa team! ⭐ A big shout-out to Aggie and Molly — you ladies are super lovely, thank you for an awesome massage and such a warm welcome. Thanks also to the reception team, Lisa, Nicky, and Holly — a fab team all round. There was a small hiccup with my food order being taken down incorrectly by one of the male waiters (this has happened on a previous visit too), but the lovely blonde reception manager was fantastic and sorted it out for me straightaway. Overall, a wonderful time and experience!
