About South Nesting Hall And Caravan Park

South Nesting Hall And Caravan Park is a campground in Skellister on Shetland's Mainland. The site has showers. Nesting village is within easy reach, with the school just a couple of minutes' walk away.

Shetland itself is the draw here. The islands offer dramatic cliffs, moorland, archaeological sites and distinctive wildlife. Getting around Shetland requires either a car or considerable patience with public transport, but once you have wheels, there is genuine exploration to be done. The site's location in the quieter north of Mainland puts you in position to reach Whalsay, Unst and Yell by ferry, or to head south towards the settlements and attractions of central Shetland.

Loved our 11 night stay here! Bit of a slope but we managed to level our caravan easily. Great shower and facilities over in the hall, all kept spotlessly clean by the volunteers that look after the site. Being in a caravan, the site was perfect as we could travel around in the car and then just come back to the peace and quiet of South Nesting! Hopefully we will make it back up to Shetland and wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. Thanks everyone for looking after the site so well!

A very lovely camping spot with a tidy service facility (just shower and wc, no kitchen ect) Had super friendly local campers as my neighbours 😀 The area is very nice for a long peacefull walk. Come prepared regarding catering

Great spot, water and electric on post. Facilities in hall. Easily located from the main road with excellent signposting when needed Payment , cash, cheque, bacs or PayPal by The park up area has a slope, but blocks or careful choice of pitch will get you level. The acid test , would you stop here again, and the answer is yes

We stayed here for 5 nights and we found this place very beautiful and quiet, very close to nature. We had a huge tent and we managed very easy to set-up with lots of flat grounds. The tent pitch area it's big enough for 10 - 15 tents and there is a gravel area for at least 8 campervans with sockets for power. At only £12 per night per tent and £22 for motorhomes/campervans (with electricity included or £18 without) we found this place very affordable compared with others. Very well maintained toilets and shower. We had 3 kids with us so the nearby school had lots of stuff to keep them busy (football pitch, playground, etc).
