About The Abbey Lodge Hotel
The Abbey Lodge Hotel occupies a substantial property on Kirkgate in Shipley, its size lending itself well to a full-service hotel setup rather than a simple bed and breakfast. It's a straightforward, no-frills base in West Yorkshire, useful for anyone wanting somewhere solid to stay without extra fuss.
Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms, and family rooms are available for those travelling with children. Drinks can be brought to the room, and room service is offered alongside a 24 hour reception desk, so arrival times are flexible. Breakfast is served on site, and a packed lunch can be arranged for guests heading out for the day. The on-site restaurant and bar cover evening meals and drinks without needing to leave the building, and free WiFi and luggage storage add to the practical offering. Pets are welcome, which suits guests travelling with animals.
Free on-site parking is provided, a genuine convenience in a town setting. Nearby Cannon Hall Country Park gives a reason to venture out, and the immediate area also has pubs, restaurants and other eateries within easy reach, along with fishing and entertainment options close by for those wanting more than a quiet night in.
Guests mention this hotel offers clean, comfortable rooms with large beds and well-equipped bathrooms, including powerful showers. They also highlight the delicious and hearty breakfast, featuring quality local bacon and sausage, with gluten-free options available. Visitors consistently praise the staff for being exceptionally friendly, helpful, and welcoming.
