About The Corbet Arms

Uffington sits in the Shropshire countryside just outside Shrewsbury, a quiet base for exploring the county, and it's here that The Corbet Arms makes its home as a traditional village inn. The building combines the character of a country pub with the practicalities of a small hotel, offering en-suite rooms with air conditioning, free WiFi and pleasant views over the surrounding area.

Food is a strong point, with a restaurant and bar serving generous portions and a menu that stretches to vegetarian and gluten-free options. The Sunday roast in particular draws praise, and the dining room has a warm, welcoming atmosphere thanks to staff who are friendly and happy to help, even if service can occasionally slow down at busier times. Breakfast is included, and there's a garden for warmer days along with drinks available in the room.

Guests have free on-site parking, useful given the countryside setting, and 24-hour reception for flexible arrivals. Beyond the inn itself, there are further pubs, bars and restaurants nearby for those who want to explore, with Shrewsbury itself within easy reach for a day out.

We took my mum to the Corbett for Sunday lunch to celebrate her birthday. The food was superb, service was exceptional. Javier (i think thats his name ) was brilliant. Attention to detail great. He asked very discreetly if my mum who is an older lady would like a smaller portion for main course which was very welcome. She declined on pudding and had a full size one. Nothing was too much trouble. Food was second to none Highly recommend

Stayed here recently while on cycling holiday. Glorious weather, sat outside for dinner which was a pleasant spot. Food better than average pub food but nothing spectacular. Room was newly renovated with comfortable mattress and nice bathroom. We stayed to watch the England match and were very well looked after by the owner - very friendly and helpful. Hence the good rating.

We visited Coberts Arm for a Sunday roast without a booking and were warmly welcomed on arrival. To start, we ordered the chicken liver, BBQ pulled pork, dill salmon, and creamy garlic mushrooms. All the starters were beautifully presented, fresh, and absolutely delicious. For our mains, we chose the roast topside of beef, roast leg of lamb, roast loin of pork, and roast turkey, along with an extra Yorkshire pudding. There was quite a long wait for the food to arrive. The menu did mention that all food is freshly prepared and that customers may need to be patient during busy periods. After waiting for almost an hour, we asked at the bar about our meals, and they were brought out shortly afterwards. In fairness, we probably should have checked sooner rather than waiting so long. The wait was worth it, however. The roasts were delicious, well presented, and served with fresh vegetables. The meats were cooked beautifully, and everything tasted freshly made. Overall, despite the delay, we had a very enjoyable meal and appreciated the friendly service. We would happily visit again when travelling through North Wales. They also do have 2 11kwh EV charging stations

Didn't stay there but called for a funeral and catch up with friends. Food was excellent and service was very good. Good choice of everything and well presented. Staff very accommodating providing everything from vegan dishes to nuggets and chips for the alternative eaters! Some people we met were staying at the corbett Arms and said they'd been well looked after.
