Not everyone can say they've camped on a 3,000-year-old Iron Age hill fort, but at Ebury Hill you'll be pitching on a genuine piece of ancient history. Set across two levels in the Shropshire countryside, this Camping and Caravanning Club site is just 15 minutes from Shrewsbury's historic centre and dining scene. Tree-lined electric gravel pitches feel spacious and well-maintained, while a coarse-fishing lake stocked with carp, perch, roach and tench keeps anglers happy.
Campers praise the peaceful woodland setting—perfect for dog walks—and the friendly, helpful staff. A designated dog area, play space and motorhome service point add to the appeal. Do note that because of the site's ancient origins, there are no toilet or shower blocks, so you'll need facilities in your own unit. Members and non-members alike are welcome, with reduced rates for Club members.

Very quiet place, you go to sleep wrapped inside an iron age hill fort. Know that you need your own toilet and shower, but water, chemical disposal and electricity are available, as well as fishing. Lots of footpaths off the site.

Visited friends here such a lovely quite site and well set out. The staff are very friendly and helpful. There is a wooded area where you can take your dog for a walk. The caravans have a good distance between them.

2 nights away were great. Brilliant welcome with a relaxed vibe, walking on, and from the site were gentle and easy going (getting important as an OAP). Dogs made very welcome, even though there were a lot of pitches, we felt a privacy. As a bonus, weather was better than forecast. We shall be back when the days are longer and we can do the pub walk.
