Llanyblodwel village sits between Oswestry and the Welsh border, close enough to explore the market town's independent shops and restaurants, yet surrounded by countryside walks and quiet lanes. The area draws visitors for the Shropshire Hills, Chirk Castle, and various outdoor pursuits within easy reach by car.
Garth Ucha is a detached cottage that has grown over centuries—parts date to medieval times, with exposed beams and characterful low doorways still visible. The ground floor holds a fitted kitchen large enough for cooking in bulk, a dining room seating everyone together, and two separate sitting areas: one with a woodburner and television, the other more intimate. A games room with pool and football tables occupies another section. Seven bedrooms across two floors accommodate 14 people: they include kingsize and double beds, plus singles, with three bathrooms (one ensuite) between them. Outside, an enclosed garden has a patio, sitting area and barbecue, plus a private hot tub for ten. Parking on site fits six cars. Heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are included. The property does not permit smoking.
It works for extended families, groups of friends, or anyone needing multiple bedrooms without the formality of hotel-style accommodation. The size means you can gather or scatter as you choose within the same building.

What guests say
We were last here in 2023, nothing much has changed, the whole house could do with a lick of paint. Numerous marks on the paintwork throughout the property. I understand it's an old property with an extension, but the amount of cob webs was unbelievable. The furniture is old and worn, one of our party lifted the seating cushion on the green settee and a found a hair band, shells of pistachio nuts and the remains of a balloon, this had obviously been missed when getting the property cleaned for our arrival. When you sat on the other settees facing each other you could see loads of dust underneath and the bottoms of the settees where worn and peeling, as where the settees in the adjoining room. The seating cushions on the settees were very soft and you sank down in them when you sat on them. Upstairs the bedding and beds were clean, but the rest if the furniture is old and tired. We only used the hot tub once, the leaver was broken to remove the lid has to be physically removed and this is very heavy, too heavy for a group of women in their 60's to be doing. We were quite happy we only used it once as during our stay no one came and tested the water as they have done in other places we have stayed. Really disappointed in our stay.
