Craven Arms sits between the Long Mynd and the Welsh Borders, putting walkers, riders and those after countryside pursuits within easy reach. The Coach House, a restored 1780s building, provides the space and facilities needed for large groups—ten bedrooms across three floors, six bathrooms, and room for 18 people to stay together. It's genuinely private: you rent the whole property, not a section of it.

The layout spreads across ground, first and second floors. Living areas include two sitting rooms (one with an open fire, one with a woodburner), a dining room, and a kitchen with an Aga alongside modern appliances. Six bedrooms hold doubles; four have twin or triple arrangements. Bed linen, Wi-Fi, electricity and heating are provided, along with initial fuel for both fires. A dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer handle the practicalities. Outside, there's a large garden with seating, a terrace and barbecue space, plus parking on site.

The surrounding area has castles, museums and fishing to explore. A pub sits within a mile. Halford Big Barn is nearby for those with specific interests. No smoking is permitted inside.

This is a perfect choice if you are looking for a reasonably-priced, comfortable, no-frills venue for a large group. We had a wonderful weekend in this house. Plenty of communal space, a large dining room with a massive table, 2 comfy living rooms with plenty of sofas. Located in a beautiful part of the country. We are already planning a return visit!

Fabulous house for 16 of us for an early Xmas celebration. Well equipped kitchen (cooked turkey, trimmings and veggie options), cosy and warm all weekend.

Snotty owner who turned up unannounced while we were leaving for day out on 2nd day and making unwelcoming comments about our group. The place is spacious but needs a complete overhaul, layout very weird! Retain the character but add decent beds and showers for guest. Most of the mattress the springs could be felt! Owner saw how clean we left the house on final day and apologised for previous remarks but making assumptions in first place really upset us! Please do not judge just by appearance alone next time!

We booked this house for friends & family who were attending my daughters wedding. There was ample space for everyone. It's a lovely building, quirky & full of character just like us. I loved cooking breakfast on the aga. Well equipped with everything you need. Many thanks to Caroline for ensuring that our stay was comfortable & we had all that we needed. I would definitely recommend this holiday cottage.
