The Red House

The Red House is a first-floor annexe accessed by its own staircase, opening directly onto a raised private balcony. From here, the Shropshire hills form the backdrop to your stay. Inside, the space flows as one: a sitting area with a smart TV, a dining zone, and the kitchen with its breakfast bar all occupy the same room. Oak flooring runs throughout, and deep window seats line the glass. French doors frame the view back to the balcony.
The bedroom contains a kingsize bed. The shower room has a walk-in shower and heated towel rail. The kitchen is equipped for cooking proper meals—electric oven, microwave, fridge-freezer—rather than holiday convenience food. Wifi, electricity, bed linen and towels are all included. An enclosed garden at the back has seating and a patio. One car can park on site. The property is non-smoking, and one pet stays free.
Lower Stapleley sits among the walking country between Newport and Minsterley, within reach of Ludlow, Church Stretton and Shrewsbury. The Long Mynd and Carding Mill Valley lie nearby for hills and moorland. Arrival is after 15:00 and departure before 10:00.

The portions were surprisingly large! We ordered steaks rare, medium-rare, and well-done, and all of them were excellent. The dishes for five people were served quickly, and the staff were all very friendly and welcoming. I especially liked the seasonal soup and the whisky steak sauce—it goes well with everything. It was my first time trying a warm brownie, recommend everyone give it a try. 好吃好吃😋

Had a fantastic evening at The Red House, Lilleshall. The food was excellent and beautifully presented, and the cocktails were amazing - definitely some of the best we’ve had. The whole place has a really warm, relaxed atmosphere which made it a great spot for dinner and drinks and it’s COELIAC FRIENDLY! A big thank you to Ollie WJ for the brilliant service. He was friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect throughout the evening. Great food, great drinks, great service - we’ll be back in the morning for breakfast!

What an amazing place! Visited for a friends birthday meal, I don’t live locally so had never heard of this place before but I will definitely be coming back! Food was amazing, plenty of choice, the setting and atmosphere is wonderful. I’ve already suggested to my partner that we should go for date night! (It’s only an hour drive that we make quite often). Food is on the higher end price wise but portion sizes are brilliant and the food tasted amazing. So can’t complain about prices. Staff were absolutely fantastic too! Can’t remember the waiters name but they do performing arts outside of work 😅so as you can imagine, service was great! Very enthusiastic and friendly. What a lovely afternoon we had. The cleanliness of everything was also excellent! The toilets were outstanding. Cannot fault this place at all. Would definitely recommend!
