Wheelwright Cottage
Shropshire
Shropshire's rolling landscape and market towns make it a natural draw for a countryside break, and Wheelwright Cottage sits well positioned to explore both. The newly renovated property sleeps six across three bedrooms and two bathrooms, with the ground floor given over to living space—an open-plan arrangement with kitchen, dining and lounge, plus a dedicated games room with pool table, air hockey and table tennis. All the essentials are covered: heating, linen, towels and wifi are included.
Bedrooms on the first floor offer zip-and-link beds that convert to singles on request, while the ground-floor double is suited to those with mobility concerns. The kitchen is properly equipped for self-catering, with an induction hob, dishwasher and the usual appliances. One dog is welcome at no extra cost. Outside, a private hot tub accommodates five people; the larger garden is shared with the owner and has furniture and a barbecue. Parking for two cars is on site, and there's a bike store for exploring the quieter roads around you.
Ludlow, famous for its food scene and castle, lies a short drive away. Stokesay Castle, Ironbridge and Shrewsbury are all within reach for a day out. The owner runs a pottery studio and offers guests a free one-hour lesson if you'd like to try it. No smoking in the property.
