Glenwood House

The Rusty Axe Inn is a mile away, and from Glenwood House you can reach the surrounding Somerset countryside on foot or by car. This Grade II listed thatched cottage sits on a quiet hillside with south-facing gardens that look out across the valley—somewhere to settle with a book on warmer days, with outdoor furniture on the upper terrace for exactly that purpose.

Inside, the cottage has two double bedrooms with vaulted ceilings and countryside views; one includes a private wash basin. The main living space centres on a large fireplace with a gas-burning stove, exposed beams and oak furniture creating the kind of atmosphere that makes you want to stay put. The kitchen is equipped for proper cooking, with a dishwasher and washing machine included. Electricity, bed linen and towels are provided. Board games, books about the area and a DVD collection are on hand for quieter evenings.

The ground-floor bathroom has a large freestanding shower. The property sleeps four and is yours alone for the duration of your stay. Smoking is not permitted. One dog is welcome.
