Moorleaze is a five-bedroom farmhouse on the Stourhead estate near Frome, sleeping up to 10 guests across 3 bathrooms. The whole property is yours alone, with one pet welcome. Everything needed for a self-catering stay is provided: bed linen, towels, wifi and electricity are all covered. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking—two electric cookers, dishwasher, fridge-freezer and microwave mean you can prepare anything from simple breakfasts to full meals.
Downstairs, a large open-plan living space has a 55-inch smart TV, DVD player and dining area. Bedrooms are a mix of kingsize and single beds; the ground-floor bedroom has its own ensuite with bath and shower, and there are two further ensuites upstairs. A games room stocked with a pool table, table tennis, toys and books sits adjacent to the house, while the courtyard garden has seating and a barbecue for outdoor meals.
The 40-acre grounds are the real draw. A heated indoor swimming pool (each property gets a private hour daily, plus shared open swims at 9am and 6pm) and sauna are available year-round. Beyond that: a tennis court, children's play area, woodland walks, two lakes, and orchards. The estate is genuinely spacious—enough that families and groups can spread out without feeling crowded. No smoking throughout.

A perfect location for a family get-together. Our cottage ((Longleat) was perfect for 9 of us including 3 under 10s, 4 parents and 2 grandparents. Very well and thoughtfully equipped with loads of cutlery, crockery, pans etc and tastefully decorated. Fantastic range of facilities for rain and sun. The 17m pool (indoor) was gorgeous with private and shared timeslots each day. Loads of outdoor play space , football goals, tennis court (a bit tired but usable), and fantastic huge indoor games room. Tim and Esther were around in the background, delightful yet discrete hosts, super helpful. The area is very rural, lovely walking, yet plenty of ‘civilisation’ nearby in Frome, Bruton if you want, including some excellent vineyards. Overall it met or exceeded or family’s expectations in every way. Can’t recommend highly enough for quality self catering especially for families. Congrats Tim and Esther!

We think this is our 4th visit (maybe 5th). We have stayed in a different house every time as circumstances has changed (with kids, with dog, with teenagers, with young adults). We have loved it each time we stay, and I’ve even learned to swim here (in my 50’s!). The hosts are approachable and welcoming & that becomes infectious among the guests. Plenty on site to keep you entertained and is located so you have plenty to sightsee if you wish to travel around Somerset & Wiltshire. Houses are spotlessly clean on arrival and full all the necessities for self catering. Best recommendation is a returning customer, and we will be returning in 2026.

We stayed in 'Mendip' from Monday - Friday in the May Half term and what a wonderful holiday it was. This place is simply gorgeous and so brilliantly tailored for families. The accommodation was a 2 bedroom and was a beautiful layout, lovely and spacious. The kids ( 8 and 4) thoroughly enjoyed all of the on site facilities. The swimming pool is great, so clean and a really food size. The rota system works well with the communal swim also being so fun!! The games room was fantastic, on a rainy day it meant we could go and have some fun! The land itself is beautiful, stunning walks, tennis & basketball fun. The play park and football nets are an added bonus. We will absolutely be back and can't recommend enough to others. If you are thinking of booking - do it!!!

We have just returned from Moorleaze farm and had such an amazing stay. Tim and Esther couldn’t do enough for us. The facilities were 5*. Everything was well kept and spotlessly clean. The children loved the swimming pool and games room and had a safe environment to play and enjoy their holiday. We loved how the pool was shallow enough for the whole family. The stunning setting made for lovely evenings strolls and we enjoyed a glass of wine by the pond every night. Will be returning and thoroughly recommend.
