About Seven Acres Camping Site
A gorgeously rural corner of Somerset is the setting for Seven Acres Camping Site, which stretches over seven acres on the edge of the Longleat Estate, a five-minute drive from the town of Frome. A stream runs through the site, which sits just off the B3092 – handy for access, though you may catch some traffic noise and the occasional passing train. Most campers find the jolly whistle rather adds to the romance of it all.
Cars aren't allowed in the camping field, so after parking you'll walk your gear to your pitch – a small effort rewarded with oodles of space and a peaceful atmosphere. Kids have a play area complete with miniature adventure course for climbing, sliding and swinging, while dogs are welcome year-round with lovely walks nearby. Try the circular Mells Walk (10 minutes' drive) along the river, or Clanger Wood (20 minutes) for bluebells and butterflies. Cranborne Chase National Landscape (35 minutes) offers chalk valleys and escarpments, plus spectacular stargazing as an International Dark Skies Reserve.

We spent two nights here in our touring caravan on a hardstanding pitch with electric, it cost us £60 total for those two nights. It was originally £45 for the two nights but we paid an extra £15 for the electric. We thought this price was great considering how lovely the place was!!! When we arrived here on the Friday night there was barely anybody else on the site, it was extremely quiet and tranquil. It was just absolutely beautiful. On the Saturday at around 13.30pm (which is roughly check in time) it did get slightly busier with maybe five extra pitches being taken, but it was still so quiet and so peaceful. The place was absolutely stunning and very picturesque, we requested a pitch next to the stream running through the campsite and it was definitely the right decision. It was heavenly to listen to in the 30° heat and it was perfect for the kids to have a paddle in and play in whilst it was so hot. Considering we had a large touring caravan, it was very easy to access and to get around. We had absolutely no issues with getting there or following the satnav directly to the campsite. It was very easy and very smooth sailing. They have toilets and shower blocks which are well looked after and perfect for what you need, they have separate toilets and shower cubicles individually also with locked doors which was easier for us to take our kids in with us all together if needed as they were bigger 😊 We self checked in when we got to the campsite, however when booking through email and phoning the site a few times for confirmation they were extremely helpful, friendly and just lovely! We would 100% recommend this place and will be returning! I think it’s our new favourite little hidden gem! 10/10 💞

Had a great stay. Very nice site. Everything from the trees giving some much needed shade to the stream running by my caravan. All was made very easy. Given the gate code and our plot number before we arrived so didn't need to check in with anyone when we pulled up. Came back one evening to a bag of wood next to my firepit. Not sure if this was a neighbouring camper or the site owner, either way, thank you to whoever it was 😂. Will definitely be returning.

Really lovely campsite! We’ve just got home after a 2 night stay here. We had a hard standing pitch for our campervan, really lovely spacious pitches. The grounds are beautifully kept. We found the facilities great and very very clean! Ladies had toilets and sinks as well as 2 showers that had frosted glass, or you can have your own shower in a cubicle with a lockable door. (Same for the men’s as well) there was also a separate toilet, sink and shower cubicle which we found great as a family with children. The dish washing room had 2 sinks and already had washing up liquid, sponges and tea towels. We had our own but it’s handy if you forgot any of these things. There was also a fridge and freezer in this room for anyone to use. The campsite itself had a very relaxing feel to it, even with the train lines near by. If you’re a light sleeper this might be something to consider before staying here. We liked that cars for the camping grounds are parked away out of view ( but wheel barrows available to transport your camping setup!) The play equipment was a big hit with our children as well.

Beautiful site. The facilities were very clean and new. The new owners are very friendly and welcoming. We loved all the trees and the way the hardstanding pitches are spaced out with plenty of room around. We also appreciated the secure entry to the site. We will definitely come back here again!
