The Bolt Hole

Photo: The Bolt Hole and The Retreat

The Bolt Hole sits on a clifftop lane overlooking St Audries Bay, a short walk from the shoreline. This static caravan sleeps three across a double and single bedroom, with an open-plan living and dining area and a fully equipped kitchen for self-catering. Essentials like electricity, bed linen and towels are provided. The shower room is compact; heating is gas-fired. Ground-floor access means the whole property is on one level.

A private enclosed garden with decking and patio furniture opens onto shared grounds that include an indoor heated swimming pool (13m × 6m, open 08:00–17:00), a children's play area and games room with table tennis. You have direct access to the beach itself for fossil hunting or a stroll. On-site parking is for one car. The location works for exploring Exmoor and the Quantocks inland, or the coastal towns of Dunster and Watchet. One well-behaved dog is welcome. No smoking is permitted inside.

Loved spending the weekend here. Has everything you need for a relaxing few days away. Superb location and some lovely walks around. The BoltHole was very comfortable … even with the storm force winds surrounding us…

We had a wonderful stay at The Bolt Hole which is extremely comfortable and has everything you may need! Our dog was also well catered for with dog treats, bowls and poo bags! The owner Sara has thought of everything and communication was excellent during booking. Thanks Sara and would definitely return xx

I had the absolute pleasure of staying at The Bolthole for a few nights, just a few weeks ago and I can honestly say, I had the best time. Where do I start in describing what made the trip so relaxing? From start to finish, i loved every minute of my break. As I drove down the scenic drive I knew I was entering into a place of calm and tranquility. The Bolthole was easy to locate and when I saw it, I just couldn't wait to get inside! The decking area provided a great outdoor seating space, which I used quite a bit whilst reading my magazine and eating some cake! Inside, the caravan was warm and inviting. The bedrooms were clean and the beds very comfortable. I didn't wake up until 9am every morning which was just bliss. The caravan is well stocked for self catering and even has an airfryer! The site has a fabulous swimming pool which I used every day. It has a great booking system, which means you can often find a quiet time to use the pool. I had it to myself every time I used it. I loved the short walk down to the bay but I also enjoyed walking through the meadows on the site too. They have benches dotted around, and I just sat, admired the beautiful views and soaked up the calming environment. I can honestly say, The Bolthole lived up to its name - it really did feel like the perfect place to just get away from it all. I felt like I had a really good break away. I can highly recommend and I will return. Thank you Sara for making the stay so welcoming and perfect in every way. You are a wonderful host. Xxx
