Auchendrane Stables - No 2 The Stables
South Ayrshire
No 2 The Stables is one of two converted Victorian stable buildings on a private estate near Alloway. The property comes fully equipped: the open-plan ground floor has a kitchen with electric oven and hob, dishwasher and washer-dryer, a living area with woodburner and TV, and a separate toilet. Upstairs are two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Bed linen, towels, wifi and electricity are all included. One dog stays free of charge.
The estate sits within extensive grounds with direct access to river and woodland walks, and guests can use the tennis court. The location puts you in Robert Burns country, close to Alloway's cottage museum and the Brig O'Doon. Ayr's beaches and restaurants are five miles away; a local shop and restaurant are half a mile from the door. The Ayrshire Coastal Path runs for 100 miles and is known for views across to Arran and up the Firth of Clyde—seals, otters and red deer are spotted regularly. Further afield lie Culzean Castle, Dumfries House, and a choice of 30-odd golf courses including Turnberry. Day trips to Glasgow, Edinburgh and Loch Lomond are all feasible, as are ferry crossings to Arran, Bute and Cumbrae.
