The Byre

South Ayrshire's coastline draws golfers to Troon and Turnberry, while Ayr itself spreads along the shore with shops and restaurants. The Byre sits inland on a working farm, ten minutes' drive from Ayr and twenty from either of those courses. It's a converted barn arranged around a courtyard, with space to yourself and a private garden looking out towards the fields.

The ground floor holds an open-plan living and dining area, a kitchen with a full range of appliances including a dishwasher and washer dryer, and a double bedroom with its own shower room. Upstairs, a second bedroom has two single beds. Both bathrooms have heated towel rails. Electricity, bed linen, towels and wi-fi are all included. The enclosed rear garden has seating and furniture. You can charge an electric vehicle on site, and there is parking for two cars.

One dog can stay free, though it must be kept on a lead in sheep country. The property is non-smoking. It suits couples or families wanting to be near the coast but based in quieter countryside, or anyone interested in the farms and landscape that shape this part of Ayrshire.
