One of the worst places to stay: the owners are greedy and we ended up paying for two nights and stayed only one night: the cottage is next to horse stable and very smelly: Would not recommend for any one

Filthy, mouldy & rude host!! Upon arriving at the property after a 4hour journey with a 8month old baby, we were shocked what we discovered. It was clear nobody had been at the property for a very long time because when you first enter the house the smell of damp and dust and mould was prominent throughout the whole house. There was dust and cobwebs all over furniture and fireplace, mould along the windows and growing on the walls, which as many will know is a fatal hazard to those with health issues. Every single bed linen was dusty, damp, torn and stained, the travel cot was broken and mould on the lining of the “mattress” (one of the main reasons we booked Dairy Cottage because it seemed appropriate for my 8month old baby) the towels provided were old, the bathrooms had half empty shower gels cartons and the kitchen was full of half used personal belongings. We were told not to touch the heating, bare in mind that it was winter period and we have a new baby. The host, Anne Hardie was so rude and unwelcoming and went as far to discriminate against disability by stating that I should not have had a child because of my blindness and questioned how I “coped”! Due to the growing mould on the bedding and travel cot and walls, and the filth throughout the house and bedding, we could not stay at this property, I would be putting my baby who was born with respiratory issues at risk and the host, Anne Hardie is yet to issue us an apology and a refund for the 7 unstayed nights at the property. The appropriate parties have been alerted of this property as Anne should not be taking money from members of the public if she is unable to keep the property at a standard, and follow environmental policies.

A disgrace of filth , damp, mould, torn and stained bedding in an unsafe and unhygienic property. The owner Anne Hardie offensive , neglectful and no interest in responsibility for her dismal house let. No correspondence from her. We had to leave less than 12 hours after arriving due to the stench and dirt. No compensation or refund from Anne Hardie. A shocking display of neglect and disregard for her clients . Avoid at all costs. Has been reported to licencing and safety standards.
