Ocean Retreat

Ocean Retreat is a one-bedroom cottage in South Hams, a short walk from the village and Wembury beach. You arrive into an open-plan ground floor where the living and kitchen areas flow together around an electric stove, with a shower room and outside space leading off. Upstairs, a single king-size bedroom provides the sleeping quarters. The whole property is yours alone, and one well-behaved pet can stay free of charge.

The kitchen is equipped for proper cooking—gas hob, electric oven, microwave and fridge mean you can prepare meals to suit yourself. Bed linen, towels, heating, electricity and Wi-Fi are all included. At the back is a gravelled terrace with garden furniture and a barbecue; the front has a patio for morning coffee. There is parking for two cars on site and a bike store for exploring the wider area. No smoking is permitted inside.

The location works well for couples wanting a base near the coast. Wembury's beach and rock pools are within walking distance, and the surrounding countryside—designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty—has coastal paths and woodland routes to discover. The Mussel Inn is nearby, and Plymouth, with its maritime heritage and restaurants, is close enough for a day trip. Arrival is after 15:00 and checkout before 10:00.
