What visitors say

For the whole of my life, my most visited and—frankly, in my opinion—the best beach in England is West Wittering Beach. I have visited West Wittering Beach for all 21 years or my life so far, since I was a young boy. Interestingly, after all these years, I have never made my mark on the beach with a review, though unsurprisingly, it contues to hold a very special place in my heart. My grandparents live nearby, and ever since I've known them, I've always enjoyed a short cycle or moderate walk to the beach to bask in the glorious sunshine and get my toes out in the soft golden sands. The beach is always extremely clean and well-maintained, and safety standards are held to the absolute highest order. With this in mind, it has remained a safe, enjoyable spot for families and individuals for past, present, and future generations. The beach, I know, is a very important aspect of the local community and wider countryside and It’s brilliant to see that has been so well-cared for by the individuals and families who have invested their hearts and history into protecting it over the years. It is truly a standout coastline in the whole of Britain, and I am happy to continue visiting for many years further with my own family. Thank you!

What a lovely sandy beach! It was extremely clean. Only one coffee shop was open and the queue was quite long. They didn’t have much options to eat. Mainly drinks/coffee and ice cream. Outdoor showers and toilets. Plenty of parking. ( booked in a night before to save some cash) can’t wait to come back!

Really amazing beach in the UK. A great place for your family and kids, lots of places to run and play in the sand. Summers are best here. Beach is clean and the facilities are kept tidy too. Plenty of car parking. Makes sure u book a slot beforehand for an easy access.

Nice beach. The sand is clean, the water is clear when the tide’s in, and on a good day it actually looks like somewhere abroad rather than the south coast of England. Sailing boats drifting past in the background doesn’t hurt either. It’s also surprisingly quiet for a beach this good. Compare it to somewhere like Bournemouth or Brighton on a hot weekend and it’s a different world, you can actually put a towel down without being surrounded by strangers. Feels like a bit of a hidden gem, which is probably why the people who know about it keep going back. The one thing that’ll catch you off guard is the tide. When it goes out, it goes really out. If you’re with family it becomes a bit of a nightmare too, because everyone spreads out across this massive flat expanse and you genuinely can’t spot each other from a distance. Worth the visit though, especially on a sunny day.
