The Bothy

The Bothy is a detached farmhouse dating from the 1700s, now restored as a one-bedroom retreat for two in rural South Lanarkshire. All rooms sit on the ground floor: a living space with woodburner and French doors to the garden, a kitchen/dining room with electric oven and dishwasher, a bedroom with zip-and-link bed, and a shower room. The cottage retains its original character—thick walls, sash windows, sandstone exterior—while the interior has been renovated throughout. Essentials including heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are covered.

The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering, and the sitting-out area in the private walled garden has furniture for outdoor meals. There is parking for two cars on site. The property is no-smoking. From here, New Lanark village lies 8 miles away, and the Falls of Clyde Nature Reserve is within reach for walking and wildlife watching.
