Carnwath sits in rural South Lanarkshire, within reach of New Lanark's World Heritage Site and the Falls of Clyde. The Hayloft is a converted stable and dairy building on a working smallholding, originally constructed over 200 years ago. It stands as a separate property, with Shodshill Mill Farm nearby and the nearest shops and pub about 3 miles away. Lanark itself is 5 miles distant, while Biggar—with its specialist shops, museums, Victorian puppet theatre and leisure facilities—is 11 miles away.
Two bedrooms accommodate four guests: one with a double bed and the other with two single beds. There is one bathroom with a bath and shower, plus a ground-floor toilet. Downstairs, the living room has a woodburner, Freeview television and DVD player, while the kitchen/dining room is equipped for self-catering, including a dishwasher and washing machine. Wi-Fi, bed linen, towels and heating are included; initial fuel for the woodburner is provided. Parking for two cars sits on site, and a bike store is available. A garden with furniture offers outdoor space.
The location suits families and couples interested in walking, cycling, fishing or golf. No smoking throughout. Arrival is after 4pm, departure by 10am.

My family all had a great time here. Lots to see and do in the surrounding area and the property itself was nice and peaceful. Lovely, well equipped cottage with a very friendly and attentive host who made us all feel welcome. Meeting the cows, horse and sheep on the farm added greatly to the experience. Highly recommend.

We had a fantastic stay at the Hayloft in Lanark! Barbara, the landlady, was incredibly helpful with our reservation, offering great suggestions for local dining and sightseeing. She also went above and beyond in helping us secure accommodations for friends visiting over the weekend. The cottage itself was very comfortable and well-equipped, providing everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The views were stunning, and the peaceful surroundings made it the perfect retreat. We enjoyed seeing the cows, sheep, and a horse on the farm, which added to the charm. Its location is ideal for exploring the area between Glasgow and Edinburgh, both of which are less than an hour’s drive away. We had a wonderful time and would highly recommend the Hayloft for anyone visiting this beautiful part of Scotland!

Very nice cottage with plenty of space for 4 persons with marvelous views. Close to Glasgow and Edinburgh (both 30 miles or 48 km). Wifi with stable internet connection (don't expect fiber speed). One bedroom with a double bed and one bedroom with two single beds, all three very good beds. Bathroom (bath, shower & toilet), large living room, well equipped kitchen (cooker with oven, fridge, dishwasher, washing machine & microwave), and toilet. The cottage is very clean, comfortable, and in very good condition. The very friendly owner is nearby to give advice and help out if necessary.
