You arrive into a living room warmed by a woodburner, original beamed ceilings overhead and a 42-inch television for quieter evenings. The kitchen sits open to the dining area with a table for four, an electric cooker, microwave, fridge and washing machine for longer stays. Upstairs are two bedrooms – one with a double bed, the other with singles – and a shower room with cubicle shower. Electricity, Wi-Fi, bed linen and towels are included, along with initial logs for the fire. One dog stays free, and the owner, who lives next door, leaves a welcome pack and doggy extras.
Outside is an enclosed lawned garden with decked area and a barbecue, room enough for summer meals and quiet afternoons. Private parking fits two cars. The cottage sits in Geldeston, a village on the Norfolk-Suffolk border with a shop, post office and two pubs serving food. The marina at Rowan Craft lies a short walk away, offering boat hire, canoeing and fishing along the River Waveney. Beccles town is four miles off. Walkers have extensive riverside routes: the Angles Way runs seven miles from Beccles to Geldeston Locks, while footpaths trace the water's edge through quieter stretches. Smoking is not permitted.
