Richmond House

Room was clean and tidy. Family room requested (1 x double bed and 2 x single beds). One of the singles is located under the other, and you need to pull it out every night, which would not be an issue, except the bed weighs so much. It takes around ten minutes to pull it out and put it back. My pregnant daughter could not manage to do it. Space for two cars to park on driveway, but hotel issues you with permits to allow parking on nearby roads. Very close to high street, pubs, food and amusements etc. Location is excellent, price is excellent. Keys left in lick box outside for arrival. If second single bed was lighter then room would have received 5 stars too (but to be fair they left me with a travel cot too, which was kind). Cleanliness needs to improve- thick dust on ceiling filter in bathroom, dust behind tv and trash from previous guest behind bedside table.

I booked to stay for 2 nights but only ended up staying for 1 in the family room. The room was nice and clean and smelled fresh.. It was a bit small for it to be a family room though. The room did have a small fridge and microwave. However the bed was broken so I complained about that. As soon as you enter the building it absolutely reeks of urine. Imagine a mens public toilet but 10 times worse. This is the reason I only stayed for the one night as I couldn't hack the smell. It was making me heave. The smell lingers onto the other floors. The hotel shouldn't be open for guest until the urine smell is sorted.

This was a night away so we could go and watch the Southport Swords at Churchtown, it was a last minute very cheap booking. We didn't expect much for the money, so it was a pleasant surprise. The room was large, with 2 chairs by a bay window. The bed was really comfortable with spotless bedding and towels, and a decent hot shower. All freshly decorated and new carpets. We realised we had no cups and spoons, rang the owner, and he came straight round with them, and a free parking pass for the nearby street, which alone saved us £6. We were a 2 minute walk from Lord Street and the town centre. Would highly recommend this place amd we would stay here again.

Lovely clean room and bathroom bedding and towels bonus things fridge and microwave loads tea coffee etc free parking location great cannot fault especially for the price we will be going back
