Aldenham Country Park

Glamping for £300-400 for 2 nights where all the daylight comes into the bell tent from 5am (there was 20 of us in 5-6 different tents and we all said the same, up at 5am 😂). So of course spent the rest of the day incredibly exhausted. Kids awake busting our chops from sunrise…I’ve stayed in 5 start hotels for cheaper. Had a laugh with staff about it, they agreed non verbally laughing about it. Cafe opens at 8.30am, so forget about coffee early at a family venue 😂. Animal farm average at best. In general a lot of TLC needed I’d say. Rained almost all day so ended up in play room for hours, nowhere to purchase a drink. A vending machine would make a lot of money in there as long as they don’t charge £4 for a very average coffee in the cafe. I really wonder who’s running the show here?! I will think very carefully about glamping in the future. Kids had a blast tho as we went with friends. No dry area for bbq so you can actually cook when it rains (which let’s face it, it happens almost daily in the uk). Cooked a bbq in the rain…unreal experience. 3 star is being kind I have to say!

Nice area to take our little girl. You can buy animal feed which you get 3 bags for various animals and you can feed the majority of them yourself (don't forget to wash your hands after!) There's an activity pack for kids to find certain bits and pieces around the farm as well as a bouncy castle and a small arcade-ish type area with a few electronic rides and games too! Only small issue is that sometimes the meet and greet does not happen at the time it is displayed on the side of the cabin. Other than that, all the staff working are fantastic!

Great farm and playground. A year ago I said I thought expensive but returning and undertaking more experiences, seeing the thought and care that is exercised in an ever cost escalating environment feel a little harsh. Grandchildren had a great afternoon, returning home exhausted! Ok we spent over £100 for two adults and two children, but where else can you get unique activities surrounded by caring people (staff and visitors)? Playground could do with a little upgrade perhaps?🤔 Good parking and access, nice walk around the reservoir too if you have the energy!
