What visitors say
Stayed at Retallack and took the kids to the FlowRider, you can book this at reception. The kids had a great time on there, the instructor was nice and friendly and did their best to ensure everyone had a decent amount of time on. The instructor will join you on the waves and show you how to do some simple tricks as well. There is a decent sized viewing area that everyone can access, and if you are watching you can grab a drink and snacks from the restaurant literally next door.

Where do I even begin with this absolute shambles of an experience? What should have been an exciting experience turned into a frustrating one that left us out of pocket and utterly disappointed. We arrived to find the place absolutely rammed - easily twice as many people as there should have been for any reasonable session. You pay the same regardless. When we politely requested a refund given the circumstances bore no resemblance to what we'd booked we were met with a flat refusal. The irony? Refunding us would have actually helped them by reducing the overcrowding that was ruining everyone's experience. The ridiculous overcrowding meant standing around freezing for what felt like an eternity between turns. We got perhaps three or four goes each during the entire session - hardly worth the fee when you spend 95% of your time huddled miserably on the sidelines. facilities offered no respite either - inadequate outside shower areas and nowhere warm to wait. The session "management" was non-existent. No clear system for whose turn it was, people jumping the queue, confusion about time limits - it was chaos from start to finish. Staff seemed either overwhelmed or simply couldn't be bothered to maintain any semblance of order. Rather than actually teaching or helping beginners, the instructor spent an inordinate amount of time showing off their own skills, taking extended turns on the wave while paying customers stood freezing on the sidelines. Unnecessary tricks, prolonged sessions, performing for their mates. When they did offer "instruction," it was rushed, unhelpful, and delivered with barely concealed impatience. So overcrowded, freezing, disorganised, with staff more interested in their own entertainment than customer satisfaction, and a complete refusal to acknowledge when they've failed to deliver what was promised. Save your money and save yourself the frustration. There are plenty of other activities in Cornwall run by people who actually care about their customers.
