Each bedroom has its own ensuite bathroom—some with roll-top baths, two with four-poster beds—spread over three floors. The property is yours alone, with parking for twelve cars on site and a private hot tub in the garden overlooking countryside. Essentials are covered: bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi and heating are all included, so you arrive ready to settle in.
Downstairs there are two living spaces with Freeview television, a kitchen with electric cooking, a second kitchen with a dishwasher and washing machine, and a separate toilet. The garden has sitting areas and a barbecue. Two of the upstairs bedrooms connect via an internal door as well as having their own hallway access, which suits families or friends wanting flexibility. The moorland location puts you within reach of walking and cycling routes, and the Peak District National Park lies a few miles away. No smoking throughout the property.

We all had a wonderful stay - highly recommended

Spent a very enjoyable week here. The week was to celebrate my 80th birthday. The first weekend of the week was with 10 family members. Excellent celebration as you can imagine. My wife and I then spent the remaining week on our own. The house was excellent, spacious, well equipped and of a good standard. Bedrooms were very nice most with en-suite. Nice lounge and a big dining room. This house is kept to an excellent standard.

When the hot water for half the house failed, the house manager claimed we had changed the thermostat. It was 24hrs before she grudgingly went to the boiler in the basement and fixed it. Unpleasant- avoid.

We had a family weekend here in June 2023, booked as Dairy House Farm via Cottages.com. The huge property was a really wonderful building and the facilities were generally very good. BUT, half way through our stay one of the two boilers stopped giving hot water and, in a very unfortunate coincidence of timing, the dishwasher stopped draining, so it was rendered un-useable for the remainder of our stay. The key consequence was that for one day (a) we had to share ensuite bathrooms and (b) we had to boil kettles to do all the washing up. This was a significant inconvenience so, after returning home, I made a polite complaint about it. However, instead of any apology, the response I eventually received from the property manager was rude and dismissive, accusing us of CAUSING both problems. Outrageous! Meanwhile, my genuinely evaluative Reevoo review of our stay has never appeared on the Cottages.com webpage and I can only conclude that it has been deliberately withheld. So, in conclusion, anybody booking this lovely though expensive place should be aware that if anything goes wrong, instead of being given any apology (let alone any refund in acknowledgement of the inconvenience caused) the guests will be blamed for it!
