About Leek Camping Barns

Tucked into pink-sandstone Padwick Farm on the edge of the Peak District, these no-frills camping barns suit walkers, cyclists and budget-conscious families who don't mind self-sufficiency. Each barn comes with electric cooker, fridge-freezer and microwave, plus there's a metered shower in the old dairy, but you'll need your own sleeping bags, pillows and tea towels. Covered outdoor areas with woodburning stoves and communal firepits add a dose of rustic charm, while composting loos and off-road parking keep things practical.

The real draw is location: sweeping moorland views toward Bradnop village, excellent hiking and mountain-biking trails on the doorstep, and Leek's market-town pubs and shops a half-hour stroll away. Dogs are welcome year-round, making this a solid base for four-legged adventurers. The setup can feel a touch spartan for some, but if you're after affordable access to the Staffordshire Moorlands without unnecessary fuss, it delivers.

Exactly what it's advertised as. A wonderful camping barn. 7 comfy single beds. Bring your own sheets and sleeping bags. Loads of character. Plus, fridge, freezer, kettle, toaster, sink, electric heater, hob, oven loads of electricity sockets. Kids imagined it to be what the kids from the Enid Blyton books would have camped in! Parking off road, right next to the barn. Easy to get to and find. A perfect adventure for the night before our next adventure, Alton Towers! Thank you for letting us stay at your unique accommodation 😀

We stayed in the top barn 3 adults, 3 children was very spacious had every you could need to cook all utensils. The space outside was amazing a nice chilling spot with a fire. The kids loved the eco friendly toilets. The host was lovely would definitely recommend and would definitely go again. Thank you for a new, lovely experience we thoroughly enjoyed it.

If you're an outdoors person used to roughing it, who'd appreciate the comfy mattresses in the two large bunk rooms, find clean composting toilets rather posh, & would enjoy the creative/quirky conversion of a dairy & cattle sheds, & the friendly, social atmosphere of communal sitting areas & camp-fires, then this is the place for you. The lady who owns & runs it is lovely. (If you're a group of people who want to get drunk & be noisy, this is not the place for you.)

We were lucky enough to have one night in the top barn, 2 mums & 4 kids. We had a great time. The place was perfect & quirky. Loved having the outdoor stove & campfire area. Amused at some reviews saying no flush toilet- it's an eco friendly compost loo, it was immaculately clean too. The shower was perfectly adequate but you are in old farm buildings, you don't expect the ritz. Can't wait to come back next year. Only tiny negative & no fault of the site was the chickens from next door, they're a menace! Jumped on the outdoor table while we were eating and had no fear of us. We almost brought a dog but 100% glad we didn't because she'd have been going mad.
