We went with our Grandson on Bank Holiday Monday for a Gruffalo day. It was the first time I have visited the Enchanted Railway, I was pleasantly surprised. All the members of staff were very helpful and friendly, the public toilets were exceptionally clean. The grounds were litter free and very tidy. It was a very hot day although there was plenty of shade to help keep cool. A small number of food and drink kiosk's serving drinks etc. For people talking a picnic there was table and bench seats available although a lot of visitors choose to sit on the grass under the shade of Tree's. The railway itself was a pleasant ride around the grounds and everybody seemed to be enjoying it children and adults. There is a large wooden train in the play area along with other wooden features, slides and swings etc. A walk through the enchanted forest was amazing, a lot of time, thought and effort has gone into the fairy dwellings. We came away very happy for the experience.

I visited Audley End Enchanted Railway for the first time today with my daughter and some friends and their kid. We all had a brilliant time. There's plenty to do to keep everyone busy for the day (kids and adults alike). The setting itself is lovely, woodlands, open green spaces, picnic areas, a great adventure playground, performance spaces, craft area, pedal go- kart racing area, a magical fairy and elf trail and of course the main event- the railway itself- which was super cute (& more extensive than expected, which was a nice surprise). The elf and fairy trail is so well done- "enchanting" really is the word & having a fairy help the kids to make their own fairy wands was very sweet. Everything is well layed out and easy to get around but still feels well spaced out. It didn't feel crowded and you could enjoy a sense of natural calm. We got a great day weather wise which only added to the splendour. I look forward to returning (& maybe next time we'll try the punting too).

We had an amazing day at Audley End Enchanted Railway! It’s a fantastic place for families, with so much to do. The staff are incredible and stay in character throughout, which really adds to the magical experience. The Fairy Forest is a lovely addition, and the playground is huge, giving children plenty of space to explore and play. We booked the 10am SEN train, and I can’t praise the team enough. We rang to let them know we were running late, and they were so understanding, reassuring us not to worry and even holding the train for a few minutes. That kindness made such a difference to our day. The staff were also wonderful with my child, who has SEN. My only suggestion for improvement would be the storytelling stop during the train ride. We weren’t expecting it, so my child became confused and slightly distressed when the train stopped and everyone gathered for the story. For children with more complex SEN needs, unexpected changes like this can lead to increased anxiety or challenging behaviours, and as the train cannot be left until it moves again, it can be a difficult situation. It might help to let families know about this part of the experience beforehand, either when booking or before boarding, so they can prepare their children. Overall, we had a lovely experience and would definitely recommend it. The staff’s kindness and understanding really stood out, and we’ll certainly be returning.

Such a great place to visit with toddlers. Open space with plenty things to do, the playground is fantastic very well taken care of, the little house village was great. The fairy trail, the face painting, the train ride. It was the perfect plan! Great with toddlers and no too overwhelming with plenty of opportunities of free play
