About Wemyss Bay Holiday Park - Parkdean Holidays
Wemyss Bay Holiday Park sits on Scotland's west coast, where the Firth of Clyde opens out to sea. The setting puts you within reach of coastal walks and the kind of sweeping water views that define this stretch of Strathclyde. A shop is just across the road, and the ferry terminal—gateway to the islands—is a short walk away.
The park offers self-catering cottages, each with a kitchen and a deck. Facilities include showers, an indoor pool, and an arcade. The entertainment team is noted for being hands-on and approachable. Some of the accommodation could be better maintained, so it's worth checking the condition of your unit when you arrive. The location suits families after a Scottish coastal break without fuss, and those wanting quick access to island ferries or coastal exploration.

What visitors say
Fantastic holiday park great service from staff and absolutely stunning facilities. Drinks are a wee bit too pricey but you expect that from holiday parks. £6.90 pint of guinness is a bit much. Food is fantastic. Spent monday to friday here singing along with the karaoke, restaurant has some gluten free options and is dog friendly which is brilliant. A staff member named emily working in the showbar when we were there was really nice to us, let me request a song as my singing was terrible. We will be back within the year.

We are thinking about buying a holiday home here. The place is well maintained and the staff are warm and friendly. To eat there is a bit expensive and the shop is at it. But take your own stuff from the supermarket and save a fortune. We loved the place well worth A look good entertainment and plenty for the kids. At the bottom of the hill is the train station and ferry very conveniently located.

We recently stayed at Parkdean Resorts Wemyss Bay in May 2026 and unfortunately our experience fell well below expectations. We had booked a Bronze caravan and paid extra for early check-in, but on arrival we were allocated a pitch right beside the bins and a fence, despite there being many seemingly better locations around the park. The caravan itself was not cleaned to an acceptable standard, which was disappointing from the outset. The biggest concern was finding black mould in one of the bedrooms. As we were travelling with our young daughter who suffers from asthma, this was particularly worrying. We also paid extra to hire a high chair, which arrived dirty and clearly hadn't been cleaned before use. As disappointing as the accommodation was, the complaint process has been even worse. It is, quite frankly, virtually non-existent. We raised a formal complaint immediately after our stay and have since chased it repeatedly by email, telephone and live chat. More than two months have now passed without any meaningful response, update or attempt to resolve the issues we raised. From a customer's perspective, it genuinely feels as though the strategy is simply to ignore complaints in the hope that people eventually give up chasing them. Whether that's the intention or not, that's certainly the impression the process leaves. I've made every reasonable effort to engage with Parkdean, but the complete lack of communication has been incredibly frustrating and has left me with very little confidence in the company. It's a real shame because Wemyss Bay is a beautiful location with stunning views over the Firth of Clyde, and the park itself has plenty of potential. Unfortunately, the poor standard of the accommodation, combined with one of the most ineffective customer service and complaints processes I've experienced, means I cannot in good conscience recommend staying here.

The caravan we are in really smells bad, I have bought fabreeze and opened all the window. Not sure what it is but may be linked to the pet hairs all over the place. I have had beautiful memories here since I was a wee girl and wanted to bring my youngest to have thise memories as well. Staff are friendly enough. The view is spectacular the higher up you get.
