Beautiful location and a genuine hidden gem. My room was well appointed and comfortable, and at night it was perfectly quiet, not a sound. Food and drink on site were very good and the staff all very friendly. Breakfast, in particular, was a highlight with excellent local produce and plenty of it. Definitely recommended as a place to stay if you're exploring Stroud and the surrounding area.

Don't like to do negative reviews but we have stayed in many many hotels and I think this has to be down at the bottom. The room was small which we sort of expected with sloping roof, but we didn't expect damp and mould on the ceiling and around the window. (see pics). We were in a building not in the main part of the hotel which involved leaving the building and heading outside to a tired not sure if you would call it a cottage divided up. The bathroom was badly laid out, and to have a shower you had to crouch or kneel in the bath. The toilet faced a radiator which had no controls so was boiling hot near your knees. The pressure in the hot tap on the sink was non existent. It said there were toiletries, there was one bar of soap and 2 shampoo/conditioner no shower gel or bath soak. Breakfast was ok if you wanted full English, sausage was very good, but ketchup was satchets snd bizarrely you had on your plate one salt and one pepper both very small satchets. Croissants were on the menu, but they didn't have any. Cereal range was ok, brown and white bread ok, jam not great, coffee ok. Best thing about this hotel....the towels were fabulous, the rest left a lot to be desired. Sad but true.

Lovely period room , super white linen and towels. A comfy nights sleep and no trouble getting fresh milk for room tea rather than longline cartons Wonderful breakfast, large Gluten free choice and probably the best gluten free sausage ever.

We have had a lovely stay here. The accomodation was comfortable and clean. The hotel is undergoing some building work which is inevitably leading to some disruption, but staff are very accommodating and helpful. The food has been excellent, both breakfast and evening meal, with a good range of beers and wines, including from local producers.
