About Newbourne Woodland Campsite
Tucked into peaceful Suffolk woodland near Woodbridge, Newbourne Woodland Campsite is a back-to-basics retreat that's become a favourite with campers seeking proper peace and quiet. The 20 non-electric pitches are scattered beneath the trees, where birdsong and rustling leaves replace any hint of digital noise—there's no WiFi, and that's rather the point. Campfires are encouraged, and thoughtful touches like a communal fridge and phone-charging station strike a nice balance between wild camping and comfort.
The friendly owners keep the showers and facilities spotless, and the adults-only policy ensures a genuinely relaxing atmosphere. Woodland walks thread out from the site, and a village pub sits within easy reach. It's an unpretentious spot that does simplicity well—recognised as runner-up for Best Adult Only Site in the East of England 2025—though those wanting electric hook-ups or a livelier scene will need to look elsewhere.

What visitors say
Almost 30yrs between camping trips and we could not have found a nicer campsite. The owners have thought of everything that could be needed and some. The toilet facilities and showers are excellent. An idyllic setting so much countryside much wildlife bird song and peacocks 🦚 sounding off. There is a lovely camp shop with all manner of things. We took far to much gear not realising how much is on site. Next time back to Basics, it would be much easier. Check the website out it's not wrong. Thank you Jen nice to have met you and thank you for a wonderful Campsite.

This campsite is so quiet and peaceful. We spent 4 nights here and feel stress free. The facilities here are excellent and very clean. Jen, the owner, is lovely. There is a honesty book in the shop if you want to buy anything from there. In the information office there are printouts of local walks you can go on. We went to Newbourne Springs which was a lovely walk with our dogs. We had a field to ourselves for a couple of nights with plenty of squirrels and pigeons to keep us company! We would definitely recommend this campsite for a peaceful and relaxing stay.

Absolutely love it here. Such a great setup in such beautiful place. I've been and stayed in one of the lodges of my girlfriend and dog. The area immediately around the lodge was secure for a dog. Plus he could go off the lead outside of that with other dogs that were nearby so it was lovely and friendly. The little shop is great and the owners Jen and Larry are amazing people. We are really well with them. Looking forward to going back again
