About Church Farm Camping
Several campsites in North Yorkshire can confidently speak of spectacular scenery, but few have a backdrop quite like Church Farm Camping's: the giant Kilburn White Horse, a 97-metre figure carved in 1857 and said to be England's most northerly hill figure. It's a fabulous view to wake up to across this spacious, laidback grass field on the edge of the North York Moors National Park.
The setup is decidedly simple—non-electric pitches, a pair of toilets but no showers or hot water—so this is one for hardy campers who don't mind keeping things basic. Barbecues are permitted, and there's an excellent pub less than a mile away in Kilburn for meals and afternoon cakes. With the Cleveland Way passing nearby at Sutton Bank and cycling routes threading through the Howardian Hills, it's an ideal base for walkers and mountain bikers who value spectacular surroundings over creature comforts.
