Dowland is a quiet hamlet in the heart of Torridge, surrounded by open countryside and footpaths that lead straight into the Devon landscape. Serendipity, a centuries-old thatched cottage, sits at the edge of this rural setting, a short drive from Winkleigh and within reach of the Tarka Trail. The property is yours alone, with space for two guests and one dog at no extra cost.
Inside, the cottage has a living room with an electric wood burner and Smart TV, a separate dining room, and a kitchen equipped for proper cooking—microwave, fridge/freezer, air fryer and coffee machine are all there. Downstairs there is also a shower room with a walk-in shower and heated towel rail. Upstairs, the bedroom has two single beds tucked under the slope of the thatch. Electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are included in your stay. The cottage has car parking on site and reaches a comfortable temperature via electric central heating.
An enclosed courtyard garden opens from the property, a private space for morning coffee or evening quiet. The location suits walkers and dog owners particularly well—country paths begin at the doorstep and wind through fields and woodland. There is no smoking inside the cottage. Check-in is from 16:00 and checkout before 10:00.
