What a beautiful place! We’ve visited the Snowdownia area so many times but only just been to Bodnant Gardens and so glad we did. There were 4 adults and 3 children (8,9 and 10) with us and we all had a fantastic day out, spending over 6 hours here making it excellent value. There were trails and activities for the kids but they also really loved exploring all the little areas and paths. All the staff & volunteers we encountered were so friendly and helpful too which really makes a difference. Just a lovely day out all round. We will definitely be returning in the future!

Bodnant Gardens in North Wales is a really beautiful place for a relaxed walk and a day out in nature. It’s looked after by the National Trust and sits on a hillside with amazing views over the Conwy Valley and the mountains in the distance. The gardens are big and very varied. You’ve got formal areas with flower beds, quiet woodland paths, streams, and open views that change a lot depending on the season. In late spring, the famous Laburnum Arch is the highlight — a long tunnel of golden flowers that looks incredible in real life. It’s a place where you can easily spend a few hours just walking around and taking it all in. There are plenty of benches and quiet spots if you just want to sit and enjoy the surroundings. Inside the grounds, there’s a café serving drinks, cakes, and light meals, plus a gift shop and a plant centre if you want to take something home. Parking is on site and clearly signposted. Entry is paid (National Trust members go free). For non-members, tickets are usually around £15–£18 for adults, with cheaper rates for children and families, depending on the season. Overall, Bodnant Gardens is a calm, well-kept place that feels easy to enjoy — whether you’re into plants or just want a nice walk with great views.

Our visit to Bodnant Garden was a truly wonderful experience. Established in 1874 and now cared for by the National Trust, this world-famous garden covers over 80 acres of beautifully designed landscapes, terraces, woodlands, and streams. We were amazed by the variety of plants from around the world, the stunning views of the Snowdonia mountains, and the peaceful atmosphere throughout the garden. The famous Laburnum Arch and the colourful seasonal displays were particularly impressive. It is a perfect destination for families, nature lovers, and anyone looking to enjoy one of Britain’s most beautiful gardens. 🌺🌿

We came along mid week during half term. Plenty of parking and well signposted and manned. And helpful parking staff pointed out entry and do's and don'ts (one of our kids had a rugby ball and we were advised likely would be asked to store it). Aside from that, lovely friendly staff at the check in, maps provided of the grounds. An amazing walk (we managed to see the golden arch (laburnum) in bloom), and a steady walk around the grounds. Can be hilly in parts so you may need to stop and take a breath here and there. Several cafe stops (near the car park, near the entrance/ exit and at the far end of the walking loop). The manicured grounds are beautiful, with shaded areas to sit, the rose garden (my wife loved this with David Austin roses) and the views over the hills. This was a spontaneous visit, but was a lovely couple of hours walking, enjoying the running water in the gardens and spending time with the family. Plenty nearby to head to before or after (local eateries and a tea room down the road too). All in all would recommend if you have a few hours on your hands and want to see a picturesque part of North Wales. 👍🏻
