Garden Cottage is a detached property in Newby, a village in the Eden Valley between Penrith and the Lake District. The single bedroom has a zip-and-link bed, and there's a bathroom with bath and shower. Upstairs, an open-plan living space combines a sitting area with wood-burning stove, a dining zone and a kitchen equipped for proper cooking—electric cooker, full-size fridge and freezer, microwave and washing machine are all here. The essentials like heating, linen, towels and Wi-Fi are included, as is the initial fuel for the fire.
Two cars can park on site. An enclosed garden with patio furniture and barbecue opens from the property, and there's a bike store if you want to explore by pedal. One dog stays free. The village has a pub, restaurant and shop within a mile. Brougham Castle, Acorn Bank's gardens and watermill, and Wetheriggs Pottery are nearby; the area suits walkers and cyclists, and the River Eden offers fishing. Penrith is about 20 minutes' drive, while the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales and Scottish Borders are all accessible. The cottage does not permit smoking.
