Low Jock Scar Country Estate works for large gatherings where people want their own space—extended families, groups of friends, or multiple couples. The complex spreads across four separate buildings, meaning you can split into smaller units while staying together on the same grounds. Nine bedrooms across the properties sleep 18 people; rooms range from kingsize doubles and super kingsize beds to twin singles. Eight bathrooms mean mornings run smoothly. Each building has its own kitchen and living area, so you can cook separately or gather as one group.

The main house contains four bedrooms and two living spaces with woodburners and 55-inch televisions, plus a separate toilet and utility room. Three annexes each provide their own self-contained accommodation: one with a kingsize bed and ground-floor living; one with a double and open-plan space; one with a super kingsize opening onto gardens, plus two further bedrooms on the upper floor. Kitchens are equipped for real cooking—electric cookers, microwaves, dishwashers and fridges throughout. Wifi reaches all buildings. Two hot tubs sit on the grounds, one by the riverside garden. Parking for 11 cars is on site. Bed linen, towels and electricity are included; logs for the woodburners are provided. No smoking is permitted.

Kendal town is nearby for supplies and attractions. The property suits those needing flexible layouts—small children can be close to parents, teenagers can have their own annexe, and the group can operate independently or converge for meals.

Spent a couple of nights in one of the cottages called Butterfly - this is a beautiful cottage in an ideal location for exploring places as well as close by walks. Hosts Kerith and Daryl were lovely and very helpful, I couldn't recommend this place enough. So peaceful and the added bonus of having a private hot tub too!

Just spent a long weekend in Butterfly Cottage. Beautiful place, fantastic country setting not far from Kendal. Loved the log burner and the covered hot tub. Great place to relax and enjoy time with best friends. Really helpful friendly owners. Will be definitely heading back for our next annual girls retreat. Can highly recommend

We stayed with a group of 8 in Riverside Cottage. The cottage itself was absolutely lovely; very luxurious. The setting and garden is also very pretty, and of course the hot tub, which made the trip. Daryl and Kerith were very helpful and provided plenty info on local walks, restaurants and things to do. Would highly recommend and hope to stay again.

Lovely 4 bed (all en-suite)cottage, nice & cozy, Well equipped & clean. Ground floor bedroom patio door opens right into garden, which is a bonus for using the hot tub. Main bedroom on 1st floor has a huge picture window overlooking the river. Fantastic grounds full of wildlife right next to a stream. Log burners & hot tub were great. Wifi throughout. Nature at it's best. Had a lovely relaxing stay, even the rain didn't dampen our spirits. Recommended
