Low Mouthlock Cottage is a stone-built rural house near Kirkby Stephen, positioned between the Yorkshire Dales and Lake District. Parts of it date back to the 1650s. The property comes to you whole—no other guests—and one dog stays free of charge.
Four bedrooms sleep eight: a super king, a king, two singles, and a single with a pull-out. Three bathrooms serve them, two en-suite. Downstairs there are two living spaces, one with a wood burner and the other with a TV and PlayStation. The kitchen has an Aga, electric hob, dishwasher and all the usual equipment for cooking properly. An enclosed garden with patio, seating and firepit adjoins the house; there's a small play area for children. Four cars fit on the drive. Bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi and heating are included; wood-burner logs are provided in winter months. No smoking inside.
The cottage suits families or groups wanting space to spread out without being on top of each other. Kirkby Stephen itself is walkable for shops and pubs. From here you can reach the fells, valleys and lakes that draw people to this corner of the north.

Low Mouthlock Cottage is ideal for large families and the views are stunning Unfortunately it needs a good update as its a bit tired in places We only had vague instructions on recycling and nothing for heating, bins etc There is an Aga which I have no idea about Both TV remotes wouldn't work so we went out and bought new batteries but they still didnt work and no instructions for the tvs Considering its remote location there was no welcome pack, milk etc so its a good job we had some as we were travelling down from Scotland a 6 hour journey

stayed for two nights in early November 2023 with three friends. A stunningly rural cottage. Immaculately kept and beautifully appointed. Kitchen it’s extremely well kitted out with an amazing range cooker. Beds were all very comfortable we all slept very well. Special mention to fantastic amplifier (Bluetooth)and speakers in the dining room, wow. This place is perfect isolation. Book it.
