Oakbank Cottage

Kirkby Stephen sits at the heart of some of the Pennines' most rewarding walking country, with the Pennine Way passing through the market town itself and tracks radiating out into high moorland. The Settle-Carlisle railway line runs nearby, one of Britain's most scenic train journeys. Locally, Blencathra dominates the skyline to the south, and the ruins of the Belah Viaduct are visible across the valley behind the cottage. The Eden Valley offers quieter lanes for cycling, and the market town has everything needed for supplies.

Oakbank Cottage is a restored farm building with three bedrooms and three bathrooms, sleeping six. Each bedroom has a double bed and its own ensuite shower room, except the third which uses the main bathroom. The ground floor holds two of these bedrooms, a kitchen with electric cooking and dishwasher, and a utility room with laundry equipment. Upstairs, the living room and dining room occupy the first floor, where large windows and deep sills frame views across the surrounding farmland. A woodburner anchors the living space, and exposed beams run throughout. There are some low beams to be aware of when moving between rooms.

Electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and wi-fi are included. The cottage has its own garden with patio and furniture, and parking for two cars on site. No smoking inside. The property does not accept pets.
