The Nook Pooley Bridge

Pooley Bridge sits at the northern tip of Ullswater, where the village spills down to the lake's edge. The Nook is positioned right in the heart of it, within easy walking distance of pubs, shops and tea rooms. The surrounding landscape is the draw here: the fells rise immediately beyond the village, and the water itself makes for straightforward lakeside walking and cycling. The area suits anyone who wants to be based somewhere with amenities but spend their days outdoors, or equally those who prefer a gentler pace of exploring by car.

The cottage is entirely on one level, with two bedrooms—one double, one with two singles—and a bathroom with a bath and shower. The living room has a woodburner (fuel included to get you started), a smart TV, and doors opening to a back garden with a seating area. The kitchen is fully fitted with a hob, oven, dishwasher, microwave and air fryer, so cooking is straightforward. Electricity, heating, Wi-Fi, bed linen and towels are all included. There's parking for two cars on site and a bike store if you arrive with cycles. One dog is welcome. The property is non-smoking.
