Whistling Green occupies a converted wing of a traditional Cumbrian farmhouse, with your own entrance and sitting room that opens onto half an acre of grounds. The living and dining space has an open fire, polished wood floors and large windows; upstairs are two bedrooms—one with a king bed, one with two singles—and a family bathroom with bath and shower. The kitchen comes fully equipped with an electric cooker, dishwasher, fridge and microwave, so you can cook properly or keep things simple. Bed linen, towels, wifi and electricity are all covered; a starter pack of firewood is provided as well.
The River Duddon runs alongside the property, and open moorland with grazing sheep stretches up the valley beyond. From here you're within reach of Coniston Water and Windermere, the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway, and countless fell walks. Silecroft beach lies 8 miles away. A pub serving food sits 3 miles up the valley. The grounds are shared with the owner, and include a washing machine (also shared), an ornamental fish pond and a small patio. There is on-site parking and an electric vehicle charging point. Smoking is not permitted in the property.
