Wild Duck

Ulverston lies two miles away, a market town with cobbled streets, independent shops, and pubs serving everything from casual meals to evening dining. The Cumbria Way starts nearby for those wanting low-level walks through the region. Wild Duck itself sits in the quiet village of Swarthmoor on the Furness peninsula, a private base for exploring what Westmorland and Furness has to offer without the bustle of busier settlements.

The cottage spreads across three floors. Ground level holds an open-plan living and dining space with a wood burner, 40-inch TV and Freesat, plus a kitchen equipped to cook anything from breakfast to a full evening meal—range, dishwasher, microwave, slow cooker and all the rest. Upstairs, the first-floor bedroom is a double with an en-suite bathroom featuring both bath and shower; the second-floor bedroom is a kingsize. A family bathroom serves both. The property sleeps four and comes with cot, crib, toddler bed and highchair if needed, along with a stairgate for safety. One dog is welcome at no extra cost.

To the rear, an enclosed patio garden with furniture and a hot tub provides a private outdoor space. Heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wi-fi are included. Parking for one car is available. No smoking inside.
