About Camping at Hayfield

Beverley and Anthony's family farm pop-up near Ulverston strikes that perfect balance between peaceful countryside and easy access to Lake District highlights. Spacious pitches come with fire pits for hire, and though facilities stick to the essentials—portable loos, clean showers, washing-up area and picnic tables—guests consistently praise how well-maintained everything is. The hosts themselves are a major draw, offering local tips and a genuinely warm welcome that makes this feel like a proper farm escape rather than just another transit stop.

Views sweep across rural Cumbria in every direction, with footpaths threading straight from the site and the local pub about twenty minutes on foot. Ulverston's shops and takeaways sit five minutes away by car, while Windermere and Coniston Water are both around twenty minutes' drive. The nearby ice cream parlour proves dangerously popular. It's a simple setup—some might find it a touch basic if you're after bells and whistles—but for anyone craving campfires, farm animals and proper Lake District scenery without the fuss, Hayfield delivers.

First time here and first time camping as a family it was the best time that we had. From start to finish firstly we checked in and was greeted by Beverly who has been amazing throughout the weekend. Sh has given us directions to local shops in the area and also takes time to have a chat with you. There is toilets on site along with showers and a washing up area. The spaces are spacious and there are fields for the dogs and kids to have a run to let off some steam. There is also cows there for your children to watch. There is also a little hut that serves soft drinks and little snacks also longs and kindling for your fire pits. It’s in a great location close to local shops. All in all a great place for camping.

Had a wonderful time staying here! Incredibly peaceful and well located! Couple that run it are lovely and friendly and very enthusiastic about the local area! They gave me and the boys a lift to the local pub which was really appreciated! And what a lovely pub it is! Showers and other facilities really nice and well kept! Would 100% come again next time we’re in the lakes!

Beautiful well kept site with fantastic views from the top of the field. Owners really helpful, Bev gave me directions when I got lost on the way there! Hot showers, clean toilets and sinks with running water on the site. Very peaceful, loved watching the sunset and having cows and goats for neighbours! Will definitely be back 👍

Absolutely love this place, so its a family ran business, and it was lovely to see the well behaved and polite grandchildren lending a hand, the couple who own it are really friendly also. The facilities are spot on, they had the cleanest toilets I've ever seen on a campsite, plenty of showers and wash facilities, electric hook up and plenty of fresh water taps jotted about, and for what I'd consider to be a brilliant price. 5 minutes from the beach, 5 minutes from town, amazing views of the mountains, I only live down the road but I will 100% be coming back
