About Birch House B&B

A cooked breakfast and an on-site bar set the tone at Birch House B&B, a small four-room property on Icen Road in Weymouth, Dorset. Guests can start the day with breakfast before heading out, and return to a drink at the bar rather than having to find a pub further afield, though there's also a restaurant and pub nearby for those who fancy a change of scene.

The four rooms are simple and unfussy, the kind of straightforward accommodation that suits a short stay rather than a long indulgent one. Free WiFi and air conditioning are standard, and there's a garden with seating for guests who want to sit outside. The property also has a lift, free on-site parking, and facilities including a gym, meeting rooms and business services, alongside concierge help for anything guests need sorting during their stay.

Weymouth itself is on the doorstep, with Corfe Castle within reach for a day out and Upwey around a mile and a half away by road. It's a modest, practical base for exploring this stretch of Dorset rather than a destination in its own right.

The room was cosy, nicely decorated, a good size, and with a large and comfortable bed; it would have cost two or three times as much in a hotel - and that's without the generous and tasty cooked breakfast (there are other options on the menu) which - like the excellent WiFi - is included. The shower was a good size, but (and this is my only reservation, which I'm sure will be addressed) had poor water pressure. Parking space is for 2, maybe 3 cars (depending how the others park!), but free street parking is plentiful. Kathy was very welcoming and helpful. I would certainly stay again if the opportunity arose.

Absolutely loved our stay here! The room was beautifully designed, spacious, and wonderfully quiet at night. Everything we needed was provided, and the attention to detail was impressive. The common areas are stunning — stylish, tasteful, and full of character. The highlight was the restaurant with its gorgeous floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking a breathtaking garden. Truly a joy to sit there. The hostess was incredibly warm and welcoming, and her homemade breakfast was delicious — a perfect start to the day. There’s a bus stop right downstairs with direct connections to the city centre and Durdle Door, which made exploring super convenient. Highly recommended!

Wow! The house is stunning and beautifully decorated, with an equally impressive garden. This was more like a stay in a high class boutique hotel. The room was attractive and restful, the bed was excellent and I wanted to take the bathroom home with me! The hosts have put a lot of thought into the comfort of their guests and it shows. Our host was flexible, smiley and welcoming. Wish we had stayed for more than one night. Excellent value for money.
