About South Buckland Farm Campsite

What a dashing place for a Dorset trip. South Buckland Farm Campsite sprawls across peaceful farmland with gorgeous views, yet it's only a 10-minute drive from Weymouth's lively seafront and sandy beach. (You can also join the South West Coast Path at Weymouth, heading east towards Redcliffe Point, a 50-minute hike.) This friendly, family-run site keeps things impressively simple and spotlessly maintained, with helpful staff who share excellent local tips and a secure gate system that adds peace of mind.

Pitches are unmarked, giving you space to settle where you fancy across the farm's level fields, with sheep ambling in neighbouring paddocks. Fishing lakes lie just a couple of minutes' walk away, while a fruit farm and tearooms await a 20-minute walk up a very steep hill—or a short drive, if you prefer. Chickerell's pubs and shops are half an hour's hilly walk or a quick hop by car; for Weymouth without the wheels, use the Mount Pleasant park-and-ride 10 minutes away. Historic Dorchester is 20 minutes' drive.

What visitors say

The campsite was lovely, with everything quite clean and well organised. There is a small playground which our kids enjoyed. The toilets and showers were very clean. It was a very nice campsite, especially for families, as there was ample space for children to run around. There is a secure, locked gate with a recognised car registration number system and a security code, which provided an added sense of safety. Overall, we felt very safe and did not worry too much about the kids wandering off. The location was quite remote and peaceful. We will definitely come back very soon!

Lovely experience camping here. We pithed up on Friday evening. Facilities were clean and always stocked up. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable regarding what we could do in the area and with the best parking. I would highly recommend! You will have to drive to get access into the town centre, all within a 15 minute drive for shops, shopping and any other bits you may need. Really good area Thank you Buckland! X

We had a fantastic time at Buckland Campsite. The views are great and facilities all spotlessly clean. The whole team were so helpful and when I had to get the AA out after a breakdown on the day we left they looked after me and my kids. We will definitely be back

Stayed here with some friends while competing in the Jurassic Coast Ultra Challenge. Site was quiet (except for the 4.30am crow chorus!) very clean and tidy. Showers and bathrooms were clean and had good water pressure (also quite hot water which was lovely!) cannot fault this place. really recommend it!
