A pub hotel on Dorchester Road in Weymouth, close to the seafront, with a garden terrace and its own games room.

About The Royal Oak

Dorchester Road leads into Weymouth's seafront and town centre, and it's on this stretch that The Royal Oak sits, a pub hotel with the relaxed feel of a proper local rather than a formal stopover. Outside there's a garden and terrace with outdoor seating and a picnic area, useful for warmer evenings, while inside a games room with a billiard table gives the place a sociable, unhurried edge.

Rooms are simple and comfortable, each with an en-suite bathroom, a flat-screen television and drinks available in room, with family rooms on offer for those travelling with children. Free WiFi runs throughout, and reception operates around the clock. Breakfast is served on site, and there's a bar for something later; pets are welcome too, so the whole household can stay together.

Beyond the front door, Weymouth's seafront and town are within easy reach, and the surrounding area suits an active stay, with walking and cycling routes, golf, fishing and watersports all nearby, plus further pubs and restaurants dotted about for evenings out. Free on-site parking is provided, making it straightforward for anyone arriving by car.

Stayed here for my hen. The staff are amazing so welcoming couldn't be more helpful. Rooms clean and have everything in you need right in the bar area but still quiet. Pub itself is a lovely place plenty of selection to drink amd live entertainment. Close enough to walk into Weymouth or £7 in a taxi. Would definitely return

I go here alot with husband. There staff are 5+ The only reason I have dropped two stars are because it need a good clean throughout from top to bottom especially the toilets . Can't tell you about the rooms as I have never seen them but a good location. It's great for watching sport.

Stayed here in a family room for the night. Our room faced the courtyard so was noisy until everyone left and the band finished for the night, around 11.30pm. Beds were comfortable and we had a mini fridge which was nice. Shower was nice and hot. Would ask for a side room next time away from the courtyard. Parking was available at Tesco at the end of the laneway but it's just a gravel laneway and make's it difficult to drag your suitcase (what is it with gravel driveways in the UK?)

Great stay for a short Weymouth visit! 🏖️ The hotel is just a short drive from Weymouth beach, making it super convenient. Rooms were clean, well-kept, and welcoming just what we needed after a long travel day. What really stood out was the seamless late check-in they gave us clear directions and were very accommodating even though we arrived late at night 🔑.
